The location: Behind the central square of Kaisariani, Panagitsa square, in an area with many taverns and mezzo-souks, i.e. with a lot of competition and a variety of tastes.

The atmosphere: The old refugee house has been transformed into a tavern with Cretan food that fans of the genre seem to enjoy. Lively atmosphere, bright colors on the walls, low lamps and glazing that “enlarges” the space and maintains contact with the outside.

The food: True to the cuisine of the megalonisos, the first raki – treat is accompanied by breadcrumbs and a spreadable cheese from eastern Crete, which is called xygalo. Very original and delicious are the homemade dolmades with grape leaf rice and tomato, as well as “kandaifaki”, cheese pies with kadaifi leaves and two white Cretan cheeses in the filling. The salad with stagnagathi, pomegranate, sesame and almond was interesting and refreshingly Cretan. Large portions for the main course, of which we singled out the very hearty, well-cooked and juicy “anticristo” lamb with baked potatoes. Neat presentation of the dishes, polite and fast service.

The cellar: Good raki, soft in the throat and tasty, and there are also 2 labels of ouzo, 18 wines and beers.
Additional information: The kitchen is open daily from 2 p.m. to 12.30 am and weekends at 2 p.m. to 1 a.m.
